The Entrepreneur's Alliance, Inc. is a Central Virginia based, private economic development group. Located in the Greater Richmond Metropolitan Area, it is the area's only business trade group for owner-operated small and home-based businesses.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTRE

The services of the Business Development Centre are available to business owners and prospective business owners in the cities of Lynchburg and Bedford, the towns of Altavista and Amherst, and the counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, and Campbell.

CIT's mission is to improve the quality of life in the Commonwealth by enhancing business and job opportunities through promoting the Commonwealth as a technology state and facilitating the development and introduction of technology. CIT works with companies to develop and introduce new technologies in products and services, materials and manufacturing processes. CIT offers technology awards, assistance in finding technical resources in the university system and Federal Government laboratories, information services and networking opportunities to assist client companies address technical challenges and opportunities.

WVTF is a broadcasting institution in Virginia, North Carolina, and West Virginia. The station has been on the air for nearly 25 years and has been the main source of NPR news, classical music, and jazz for an audience of over 134,500 people every week. For the second year in a row, WVTF is ranked among the top 50 stations nationally for the total number of listeners.

The Virginia Tech Seismological Observatory (VTSO) is located on the Virginia Tech campus. The VTSO operates a fully calibrated, digitally recording seismic network with stations in Virginia and southern West Virginia. Earthquake detection, location and analysis of data by members of the Southern Appalachian Cooperative Seismic Network is facilitated by rapid access to Virginia Tech data via the Internet.
