"Face Lifts" or Website Re-designs

Sometimes companies have existing websites that need a new look or need to become more functional.  We see many problems with existing websites that we can help to correct, such as:

  • Poorly designed graphics that may be too large or difficult to see
  • Poor navigation so the companies products and services cannot be found on the website
  • Slow load time in most browsers.
  • Improper web page optimization so the site is getting little or no traffic.
  • Awkward or non-existent shopping carts to sell products online
  • A generally unprofessional or "home-made" look
  • Poor wording that does not capture the reader's attention instantly (you only have 2-5 seconds to convince visitors to stay"
  • Useless entry pages that cause surfers to leave as soon as they arrive
  • Improperly named pages and images.
  • Failure to be accessible to some browsers or some surfers

An example of three recent face lifts we did for clients are below:

EXAMPLE 1:

Norson's website had many problems created by their previous designer: very slow-loading graphics, almost no text for the search engines to index, buttons and other graphics that added no value to the site, poor navigation, improperly-named pages, and a generally unprofessional look.  In addition, the site received almost no traffic, because of poor search engine placement.

New web site:
www.norsonsindustries.com

We fixed all of these problems, found some good sites to ask for links to their site, optimized their site (see www.HitHiker.com) for maximum search engine ranking, and resubmitted their new site to the major search engines.  Look for them on top soon for search terms like "Contemporary Furniture" and "Contemporary Bookcases"!

EXAMPLE 2:

Xaloc's website had many problems created by their previous designer: very slow-loading graphics, a hidden front page that could not be found at all by the search engines, buttons and other graphics that added no value to the site, poor navigation, improperly-named pages, and a generally unprofessional look.  In addition, the site received no traffic, because of very poor search engine placement.

We fixed all of these problems, found some good sites to ask for links to their site, optimized their site (see www.HitHiker.com) for maximum search engine ranking, and resubmitted their new site to the major search engines.  Look for them on top soon for search terms like "Andalusian Breeders" and "Andalusian Stallions"!

EXAMPLE 3:

Alpha Omega's website problems were both cosmetic and functional: almost no text for the search engines to find, buttons that did not work and  graphics did not give the site a professional appearance, improperly-named pages, and missing information.  In addition, the site received very little traffic, because of poor search engine placement.

We are in the process of fixing these problems, found some good sites to ask for links to their site, optimized their site (see www.HitHiker.com) for maximum search engine ranking, and will resubmit their new site to the major search engines as soon as the work is completed.  Look for them on top soon for search terms like "Virginia Employment Agency" and "Jobs in Lynchburg"!

EXAMPLE 4:

Website - Before "Face Lift" - Click image for a larger view
Pritchard and Fallin's website were primarily cosmetic: the text was very hard to read on a too-busy background and the visitors could not know at a glance what the main business of this company was.  Take a look - would you know that they were a heating and air conditioning company?

We gave them a new, cleaner look that was easy to read and easy to navigate.  We added just enough pictures and text so that now everyone knows immediately what this company is all about!

EXAMPLE 5:

Website - Before "Face Lift" - Click image for a larger view
Quality Archery Designs website had multiple problems: there was no information on the front page to tell the visitor what the main business of this company was, the meta tags were improper causing very poor rankings, the side graphic was heavy and repeated improperly and the shopping cart was very difficult to use.  Take a look - except for their name, would you know that they sold archery accessories?

We gave them a new, more informative look that is easy to read and easy to navigate.  We added just enough pictures and text so that now everyone knows immediately what this company sells!

We also completely redesigned the shopping cart with a MIVA cart to increase the percentage of visitors who purchase online.
